WHEN
- SATURDAY, JULY 23, 2022. Race starts at 10am.
- If weather is inclement we will move the race to the next appropriate day.
- Kootenay Lake - Race starts by Sunshine Bay (A) and finishes at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park (B)
- To keep the citizens and visitors in our area safe on Kootenay Lake we require a boat that meets the requirements to rescue in all types of weather and seasons. The Balfour Harrop Rescue Society (BHRS) was created to raise funds for needed rescue materials and is leading this Duck Race in hopes of raising over $10,000 dollars.
- GUESS HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE THE DUCK TO FLOAT FROM A TO B. The approximately 4 ft. tall inflatable duck will be tethered to a full 20 gallon plastic water drum that floats just below the surface of the lake. Use your math skills, or take a wild guess to win $500 and lots of other great local prizes! .
- This event is a "fun"raiser, and we encourage you go come out, enjoy the event, and watch from the shoreline or paddle alongside, from a safe distance.
- BHRS is raising funds for the following items:
- Boat Motor
- PPE for the crew
- Training Costs
- Ongoing Maintenance
